    The author Ian Gordon Lindsay (1906-1960) was a distinguished Church architect and under his auspices an important collection of 18,000 drawings of historical Scottish buildings were collected and catalogued as part of the Scottish Architects' Papers Preservation Project.

    Covering the Romanesque, Gothic, Reformation and 19th century Revivalist periods the work mentions more than 300 of Scotland's most important Parish churches.
