  • Synopsis

The Old Man of Lochnagar is a whimsical children's story written by King Charles III (when he was Prince of Wales). It tells the tale of a bearded old man who lives in a cave near the Scottish lake, Lochnagar. Tired of the solitude, he embarks on a series of magical and humorous adventures, encountering strange creatures like the Loch-haggis and friendly underwater beings called the Gorms. The story celebrates imagination, nature, and Scottish folklore, with a playful tone and a sense of wonder.

The story was orginally created  by H.R.H Then Prince Charles for his younger brothers Prince Andrew and Prince Edward to amuse them during a votage on H.M.Y. Britannia.
