The North Berwick Story

Known sometimes as the " Biarritz of the North" North Berwick is now largely a golfing and holiday resort. The book starts in the eight century in the days of St Baldred and traces through events in the middle ages , the pilgrims to St Andrews and the activities of the Cistercian Nunnery and the granting of the Royal Burgh status in the fourteenth century. It covers the reformation and the celebrated gathering of Witches at the old Kirk in 1590.

An excellent clean 1st edition with original (unclipped) dustcover now in a protective sheath. Inside the pages are  bright and clean throughout. There is a previous owner name and dated dedication in ink on front end page.
