Synopsis
A collection of poems by Maurice Lindsay who has been often compared to the English poet Philip Larkin in writing poetry of an anecdotal, humoristic and unpretentious nature. All the poems in this collection were written between the period 1941 - 1956.
About the Author
Maurice Lindsay (21 July 1918 – 30 April 2009) was born in Glasgow and became a prolific writer devoted to the resurgence of Scottish literature and the arts for more than half a century. In the post war period he was committed to shaping Scotland's cultural heritage and wrote extensively on both literary themes ( The Robert Burns Encyclopedia and Modern Scottish Poetry: An Anthology of the Scottish Renaissance, 1920-1945 all important books) as well as on travel and topographical works (notable guide books for the Borders and Edniburgh.
