Published on the 6th of April 1964 on the anniversary of the "Declaration of Arbroath" (April 6, 1320) this 97 articled Constitution was aimed at providing the basis which will be used by a Scottish constituent Assembly or an interim Parliament for the institution and establishment of an Independent Scotland within the Commonwealth of Nations. Or that "in the meantime, it will stimulate thought and discussion on the constitutional future" of Scotland.
