This is an extremely handsome book produced in the late 19th century to promote Scotland's tourism. It is bound in a red cover with gilt and black decorations. The page edges are all gilt tipped. There are over 100 illustrations with numerous full page reproductions in fine detail.
The book is divided into geographical sections: Borders, Edinburgh and Glasgow, By the Clyde to the Western Coast, Through the Western Highlands, The Central Highlands: Stirling to Inverness, The Eastern Coast and Deeside, and finally To the Far North.
Condition Notes
A good copy with bright cover boards and gilt titles and images. There is some fraying and tearing along the edges of the spine and bumping at the corners.
The Inside pages are clean and bright with some foxing throughout and usual are-related tanning. There is some general looseness to the binding.
