Additional Product Information
The Author's aim in writing this book was "to awaken interest, to stimulate and to amuse." In 1891 the parts of Scotland described in the book were still remote and aside from the ordinary thoroughfares of travel. The author lays bare the beauty of the scenery.
There are chapters on Loch Duich, The Black Rock, The Island of Lewis, the Caithness coast, Thurso and the Shetland Isles.
With three coloured and eight lithograph illustrations
Overall the book is on good condition. The cover boards have some loss of colour some light staining and light wear and tear at the corners and creasing along the top and bottom of the spine. The book remains tightly bound with the inside pages with age-related tanning and some spotting on the title and end spare pages.
