Synopsis
This is a scarce edition of a book that provides any prospective visitor with an in depth history and description of this famous Highland town as well as its neighbouring villages. Its history begins with a description of the geology of the area and the influence of the ice-age, progressing through its neolithic and then bronze age settlements and then to Roman times and the arrival of Christianity. The author provides decriptions of important historical landmarks with details of walks and ascents where their locations can be found.
The book is fully illustrated with 100 black and white photographs by local photographer Frank Henderson
Condition Notes
This is a scarce edition in sound condition with a good binding and clean olive coloured cover birds with just some light stains and bumped edges. Inside the pages are clean and bright with some light foxing throughout.
