The book covers his youth, his time in Geneva, his relations with Mary Queen of Scots and his church reforms.
In good condition generally.
The cover boards are of a classic late Victorian design and are clean and bright overall. There is some gentle fraying of the edges.
There is a presentation plate on the inside end paper.
The inside pages have a deep tan but in general are clean and unmarked.
