Synopsis
James McIntosh Patrick (1907–1998) was a prominent Scottish landscape painter and printmaker, best known for his highly detailed and atmospheric depictions of the Angus countryside and the city of Dundee. He is regarded as one of the leading Scottish painters of the 20th century, celebrated for capturing the cultivated landscapes of eastern Scotland.
Despite his obvious talent and local fame there are few books that cover his work.
This book was created to by the Fine Art Society to celebrate the artist's 80th Birthday and served as a catalogue for the 1987 exhibitions of the artist's work at The Dundee Art Galleries and Museum from 11th July - 22nd August 1987, Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museum from 5th - 26th September 1987 and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool from 6th October - 15th November 1987.
