    The Glencoe and North Lorn Folk Museum opened in 1967 founded by Miss Barbara Fairweather the author of this book. from 1968 the Museum published a range of booklets on different aspects of Highland life. On requests from the Museum's supporters it was decided to merge these booklets into one single volume which was then published in 1984.

    The details of the stories of life in and around Glencoe and Loch Leven was provided first hand by older locals and provide a record of life in this historically important area of the western Highlands.
