Synopsis
Gigha is the most southerly of the true Hebridean Islands lying just of the coast of Scotland's Kintyre peninsular. It is just 7 miles in length with a 25 mile coastline with a number if secluded bays. It is a low lying Island, rising to just 100m but also extremely fertile.
The author relates the sometimes turbulent story of the Island's people from the settlers of prehistoric times, the arrival of the Celts and then the Vikings right up to trhe recent community buyout in 2002.

Catherine Czerkawska is a Scottish writer known for her extensive body of work, including novels, plays, and non-fiction. Catherine Czerkawska was born in Yorkshire, of Polish and Irish parentage and is now living in Ayrshire.
