  • Synopsis

Whilst everyone is familiar with Clan and family tartans this is not the case with "District" tartans which have just as long a pedigree. The use of "District" Tartans has become increasingly popular by non-Clan related people who desire to wear tartan clothing and who are associated to a specific geographical location.

The authors have selected over 50 tartans from Scotland and a similar number from abroad (Canada, U.S.A. and Australia) providing the origin and design of each tartan including thread counts.

The author Gordon Teall of Teallach was Executive President and Chairman of the Scottish Tartan Society at the time of the publication of this book.
