Although translated into the English on the cover as "Gaelic Hymns" the author in his preface of 1842 describes them as "spiritual poems" which would be a better translation.
Peter Grant (1783-1867) born near Grantown-in-Spey, was a Scottish pastor in the Baptist Church and through his evangelical work and songs was admired throughout the Highlands.
Condition Notes
In good usable condition - there is some staining and bruising to the cover boards but they still maintain a sound binding. The inside pages are clean and bright with some spotting at the end-papers and title pages. There is a p[revious owner name and date (1908) in elgantly written ink on the inside end-paper.
