Synopsis
Clan Donnachaidh is the Gaelic name for the Robertson, Duncan and Reid families, with their clan heartland being in Perthshire.
This book offers a history of the Clan whose first Chief was Donnachadh Reamhar, (English: Stout Duncan). He was said to be a leading supporter of King Robert Bruce and he called his son and heir Robert after the great King. Clan Donnachaidh is traditionally listed among the clans present at the battle of Bannockburn.
The book is accompanied by 2 pull out maps - (i) Map of Bannockburn Battlefield; (ii) Route taken by Clan Donnachaidh Gilles to get to Bannockburn field.
Condition Notes
A tidy copy with cloth binding with some minor stains and with slightly dulled gilt titles and some minor loss at the top and bottom of the spine. Inside the pages are bright and clean throughout. There is a previous owner antique bookplate on front end-paper.
